In our most recent podcast we bring to you a conversation on ESG investing within a public markets context with Leslie Nicholson, Chief Product Officer of BITA. BITA is an index provider that is making indexing more accessible to a wider audience. 

In terms of key trends, the last year saw a lot of new ETFs and fund launches with a huge focus on sustainability. There is a degree of customization that is occurring like never before, ultimately giving investors lots of choice. At least half of the index launches in 2022 included positive screenings or were entirely green-revenue based. Another example is norms-based screening, such as Paris climate goals or the European taxonomy revenue classifications.  Europe is still a market leader but Canada isn’t far behind.
